The main thing is to buy our CD's and attend our concert's and other artistic endeavor's. Also spread the word about the great art and positive message coming out of the Blacklisted Musik family!

Donations...Donations!

Aside from buying our products and spreading the word, there is the support that comes from donations. Our artists are some of the very best at what they do, but because of the positive spiritual messages and overall political view (see mission statement), it is often hard to acquire enough work in terms of regular performances to provide for both our living expenses and the expense of producing our art and products. This is where your help is vital. By supporting Blacklisted Musik with donations of time and money, we will better be able to bring our message of unity through art in a variety of ways.

Monetary donations help to offset the costs of concerts, exhibits, plays and other ventures. It costs a lot to produce recordings, art exhibits, plays, and books. In many cases it takes our artists anywhere from a few months to a few years to raise money to produce their products and that's a huge amount of time from the study and cultivation of their particular discipline. With your help, we will be able to get more product with higher quality out in less time and then everyone's happy!

Donations of time are also important. This can be anything from passing out flyers in your community for an upcoming event, to working to have one of our artists or groups perform at your church, community organization, or place of business.

While every little bit helps to get our message and art out to the world, we have set up a donation chart below that may help you to see exactly what the need is.

The chart below show's our current "No Budget" recording costs for a jazz record in 2002. This means that the musicians donated their talents and time to see the record completed and there is absolutely no money used to promote the record through traditional channels (i.e...radio, television etc...). Please compare with the fact that most record companies spend at least $50,000 per jazz recording and some amount of millions on pop and R&B records.

This doesn't even begin to tell the story for our visual artists, playwrights, and choreographers. The costs can be exponential, but with your help we know that we can do with what we have through proper planning and budgeting.
